Our classes are grouped by age to help create experiences that match each child’s stage of learning, independence, and ability to engage with the activities. Similar youth art programs commonly separate early-elementary ages from older children as projects become more technical and require longer focus.

Creative Sessions | Ages 5–7
These sessions are designed especially for our younger learners! Activities are playful, hands-on, and allow plenty of room for movement, imagination, exploration, and individual creativity. Children should be comfortable participating in a drop-off setting and following simple group instructions.

Creative Series | Recommended for Ages 8+
Our Creative Series goes a little deeper. These classes introduce fine art skills, techniques, and creative processes and involve more detailed instruction, multi-step projects, and longer periods of focused work.

Have a child who falls right on the edge?
You know your child best! Ages are intended as a helpful guide rather than a hard line. If you have a younger child who is especially interested in art, comfortable following multi-step directions, and ready for more focused instruction, reach out—we’re happy to help determine which class may be the best fit.

Little Village is an indoor play space designed to inspire imagination, creativity, and connection for a wide range of ages. While younger children may enjoy imaginative play areas, older children will also find cozy spaces for reading, creating, socializing, games, and quiet activities.

Registration reserves your child’s spot for the full series or session. Because space is limited and materials/staffing are planned in advance, refunds or prorated pricing are not available for missed classes. Little Village reserves the right to cancel a series if minimum enrollment is not reached. There are limited spots to maintain a good learning environment.

Please dress your child in comfortable, creativity-friendly clothing that can handle a little mess! Socks are required in the Little Village play space.

Some programs may include outdoor activities or walks along the White Pine Trail, please also send appropriate shoes and outerwear for the weather. All outdoor activities are weather permitting.

Please send a labeled water bottle with your child. Water is the only beverage permitted during class.

All participants must be fully bathroom independent and able to use the restroom without assistance.

Participants should be able to safely participate in a small-group, drop-off setting. If a child becomes ill, needs one-on-one support beyond what we can reasonably provide, or is unable to participate safely, we will contact their caregiver for early pick-up.

A simple snack will be provided during each session. Snacks will typically include individually packaged or simple foods such as pretzels, crackers, fruit, or similar kid-friendly options. Water will also be available, and children are encouraged to bring a labeled water bottle.

Food allergy and dietary information will be collected on the Information Sheet after Registration. Please be sure to share any allergies or dietary restrictions we should be aware of. We will do our best to provide an appropriate alternative when possible; however, Little Village cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

If your child has a significant food allergy or requires a specific snack, families are welcome to send a clearly labeled, allergen-conscious snack from home.

Please communicate any important allergy information or emergency instructions with our team prior to the start of the program.

During Creative Series (Ages 8+):
Creative Series classes take place in our back classroom, so Open Play may be happening in the main Little Village space at the same time. Caregivers are welcome to stay and enjoy Open Play with siblings—or with their Creative Series participant before or after class!

Open Play is $8 per child. Adults and infants 6 months and under are always free. Your child enrolled in the series is no cost on class days.

During Creative Sessions (Mini Makers + Scribble & Story Club):
Our Creative Sessions use the entire Little Village space, so Open Play will not be available during these classes. These are drop-off programs, so caregivers do not need to remain onsite.

Need somewhere to go while your child creates? Stanwood has plenty nearby! Take a walk or bike ride on the White Pine Trail, grab a bite at a local restaurant, let younger siblings play at Buffalo Park & Pavilion, or pop across the street to shop at Stanwood Market—just to name a few!

Participants may be dropped off up to 10 minutes before the scheduled class time to check in and get settled. Class will begin promptly at the scheduled start time, so please plan accordingly. Please plan to pick up your child at the end of class or within the 10-minute pick-up window following class. Pick-up person must be listed on Information Sheet after Registration. A $15 late pickup fee may apply after a 15-minute grace period.

Open Play may be taking place before, during, or after Creative Series; however, participation in Open Play is separate and requires a caregiver to remain present.

We love capturing the creativity happening at Little Village! Photos and videos may be taken during class for Little Village marketing and social media. Parent/guardian permission will be collected on our Information Sheet after registration and children without permission will not be intentionally photographed for marketing purposes.

Little Village reserves the right to cancel a series if minimum enrollment is not reached. If Little Village cancels a session due to controllable circumstances, families will receive a credit. In order to maintain small-group experiences and reserve space for each child, registrations are nonrefundable once purchased. Families are welcome to miss individual sessions as needed; however, refunds or prorated pricing are not available for missed days.
